»  Comments | Post a Comment

Christiansburg Police say they've arrested a suspect in a December 2011 theft case from the Christiansburg Walmart.

Officers said on Monday that they charged 20-year-old Christopher Aaron Helms, of Christiansburg, after Helms turned himself into the police over the weekend.  Helms said he saw his picture on the news.

Investigators believe Helms stole an iPad from the store back on December 19, 2011.

A police department news release stated that Helms attends Liberty University, and that investigators received other tips claiming the theft suspect was Helms.

Officers charged Helms with felony shoplifting, and he has been released from the Montgomery County Jail on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
