Rockbridge County woman killed in car crash

»  Comments | Post a Comment

State Police are investigating what caused a crash that killed a Fairfield woman in Rockbridge County on Tuesday afternoon.

Sergeant Robert Carpentieri, of State Police's Salem Division, says the crash took place around noon on Route 11, just north of its intersection with Route 763.  When Troopers arrived, they found a 2003 Mercury Sable had crashed into a tree.

Investigators believe 51-year-old Pamela Kay McCambridge was driving south on Rt. 11, then ran off the right side of the road, and hit the tree.

Sgt. Carpentieri says McCambridge was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

No additional information was available as of Tuesday evening.
