State Police have named the driver killed in a deadly crash on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County Monday night.

Sergeant Robert Carpentieri, of State Police's Salem Division, says 28-year-old Brian David McEwen died when his truck crashed into another tractor trailer, about six miles north of Lexington.

The crash shut down both northbound lanes until 7:30 a.m. this (Tuesday) morning.

Sgt. Carpentieri says McEwen was from Birmingham, Alabama, and was driving for Church Transportation Logistics out of Hartford, AL.

State Police named the other driver, who is alive, as 36-year-old Steve Wilson, from Union City, Georgia.  Wilson was driving for K&R Transportation Logistics out of Manassas, Virginia.
