Man badly hurt in Montgomery County accident

Blacksburg police say a man involved in the Friday morning accident on Route 460 in Blacksburg had to be airlifted to the hospital.
Police say Robert Chester, 34, ran a red light and was hit by another driver who was turning.
Chester was thrown from the car and had to be airlifted to Roanoke Memorial.
Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The other driver, Lisa Cotting, 32, was not seriously hurt.
Police are still investigating.

The accident that happened earlier today on Route 460 near Blacksburg is now clear.
According to V-DOT, it happened close to the Virginia Tech campus entrance at Southgate Drive.
Both lanes that were closed in the eastbound and westbound directions are now re-open.

The eastbound left lane as well as the westbound right lane is closed.
