The attorney for the driver accused of a deadly hit and run Saturday morning confirmed her client will be arraigned Tuesday morning in Salem General District Court.

Debra Caldwell-Bono said her client, Shaun Scott, will appear in court at 9 AM.

Scott is charged with first degree murder, malicious wounding, felony hit and run, and felony damage of property.

Scott is accused of running down Zane Blankenship, 23, in the parking lot of Awful Arthur’s Salem location.

Bono could also ask a judge for bail during the hearing.

A check on Scott’s criminal history through on-line records showed previous drug related charges several years ago but no convictions.

Blankenship was employed the last three years at O’Neal Steel in Botetourt County.

Supervisors called him one of their most popular employees.

The company had counselors on call for Monday morning’s first and second shifts.
