Silverman entered a “no contest” plea.  That means he does not admit to the crime, but believes there is enough evidence to convict him if the case went to trial.

Sentencing is scheduled for July.

A former Assistant Pastor at Heritage Baptist Church in Vinton is set to make his plea in a child sexual abuse case.

Court records show Dan Silverman is scheduled to enter a guilty plea in Roanoke County Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon.

Police arrested Silverman back in November of 2008.  He faces a charge of aggravated sexual battery.  Investigators say Silverman sexually abused a 12-year-old back in August of 2008.

Also charged from Heritage Baptist Church, is former Deacon Dead Stone.  Police say Stone confessed to the congregation.  Stone faces 24 charges involving sexually molesting a child over the age of 13, and two children under 13.

Investigators do not believe that any of the crimes happened at the church.
