I-81 back open after crashes near Rockbridge Co., Augusta Co. line

VDOT says the accidents have been cleared, and all lanes are back open.

VDOT says a series of crashes have traffic backed up on Interstate 81 southbound, near the Rockbridge County and Augusta County line.

The crashes happened near Fairfield.  The southbound left lane and shoulder are closed.  There’s a 3 mile traffic back-up.
