Miss Virginia is guest of honor at ice cream social

Who says beauty queens don’t like their sweets?
Miss Virginia, Tara Wheeler, was the guest of honor at The Park Oak Grove Retirement Community’s ice cream social. Tara also showcased her talent, singing for everybody.
She then made it a point to sit down and chat with many of the residents. Tara says events like these give people in our area a chance to get to know her.
“I think it’s a really nice opportunity for the public to come out and meet Miss Virginia. I want to be the Miss Virginia that people see me at Wal-Mart or the grocery store, I want them to feel like they can come up to me, grab me and say ‘hi,‘“ Wheeler said.
Wheeler will compete in the Miss America pageant in January.
