Teen dies in Patrick Co. crash

A car accident leaves one teenager dead.

State police say it happened around 2:15 Sunday afternoon on Route 680, about one mile north of Route 58 in Patrick Co.

Police say a 16-year-old male was driving his pick-up truck on the southbound lanes of Route 680, when he ran off the right side of the road, then swerved to the left.

That’s when his truck hit a concrete ditch and overturned.

The 16-year-old passenger Gregory Martin of Stuart was killed.

Police do not know if Martin was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

No other information is being released at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
