Buena Vista Police Chief A.J. Panebianco and Avis Cook sit on a couch and look at photos of their trip to Neverland Ranch back in 1990.

“What struck me most about Neverland Ranch was the size. They had poured concrete pillars where they said they were gonna put in amusement rides” said Chief Panebianco.

The two flew to California as a part of a D.A.R.E. group from around the country.  The original plan had the group meeting Michael Jackson, but he was unable to attend.  However, David Faustino from Married with Children and Fred Savage from The Wonder Years spent time with the group.

Jackson’s pet chimp Bubbles was also at the Ranch.  “I had heard stories about him, but just to see him walking around like a big baby,“ Avis said with a smile.

Both Panebianco and Cook say if Neverland Ranch becomes a tourist attraction, they would like to someday visit again.
