Highway contracted awarded to Pittsylvania County road project

From VDOT News Release:

CHATHAM – A. R. Coffey & Sons, Inc. of Buchanan, Virginia, was awarded a $397,074.35 contract for work on a section of Route 631, Dews Road, in Pittsylvania County. 

The project will cover approximately 0.50 mile of Route 631 from 1.40 miles west of Route 668 to 2.50 miles west of Route 640.  The focus of the project will be to replace the one lane bridge over Beechtree Creek and reconstruct the approaches.  Route 631 will be closed to through traffic during most of the construction timeframe.  A signed detour will be in place.

Motorists should seek alternate routes during construction. The project is slated for completion in October 2009.
