Blue Demons Brace for Collision With Bassett

Christiansburg’s out to a 2-0 start, but they are not resting on their laurels.
They don’t dare..with undefeated Bassett on the horizon this weekend. And when there’s Bassett…there’s Boo! We speak of Bassett Quarterback Boo Woods, who can often be a one-man wrecking crew to opposing defenses. Cut in the mold of the Eagles Donovan McNabb in his prime, Blue Demons Head Coach Tim Cromer called him probably the most talented Quarterback in Southwest Virginia.  The run and throw threat is clearly on the minds of visiting Christiansburg this week.
The Blue Demons present some challenges as well—putting up 69 total points in their two wins over Graham and Giles.
With young talent sprinkled among 12 returning starters from a 6-4 team that came up just short of the postseason, it has certainly been a productive mix.
It very well could be a mix that is worthy of a playoff run. Coach Cromer likes their progress to this point, and is looking forward to playing Bassett to see how his Blue Demons stack up.  Senior Linebacker Ethan Dickerson says a strength of the team is that they are playing well together, and he attributes that to being together for some time. He says they are close group.
For Christiansburg—it’s time to see if they can beat back the Bengals.
Nothing short of 100 percent will allow them to earn their stripes this week.
