Drivers found a little relief at the gas pumps when they went to fill-up Monday morning.

According to AAA Mid-Atlantic, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline dipped five cents over the weekend, dropping the average to $1.75.

That’s two cents more than this date last month, and $1.35 less than this date last year.  Once again, the Roanoke region is the cheapest in the Commonwealth.

Virginia’s overall statewide average slipped four cents over the weekend to $1.81.  That average price is six cents higher than this date last month, and $1.28 less than this date last year.

Nationally, the U.S. stands at $1.91, a drop of three cents over the weekend.
