Blacksburg Police Investigate Assaults

Three cases of assault are currently under investigation by Blacksburg Police.  The attacks took place between Sunday March 16th and Wednesday March 19th in the Northeast and Northwest areas of Blacksburg. 

According to Blacksburg Police, victims are being initially followed by a group of five to eight young males. 

Police report that one to two of the suspects approached the victims and then assaulted them.  The remainder of the group possibly assaulted the victims also.

Police describe the suspects as young males appearing to be in their teens, and wearing dark clothes.  No known weapons were involved, and the victims sustained minor injuries that did not require hospitalization. 

Police report that they believe a single group of suspects are responsible for all three assaults.  Blacksburg Police request that anyone with information contact the police department at (540) 961-1150 or call the TIP line at (540) 961-1819.
