Crock pot dinner
I am trying to get organized in the new year—all the things I did pre-child—that stopped after.
At the top of my list… getting dinner made, although with a bedtime goal of 7 p.m., it’s a little more difficult. In attempt to meet yet another goal, I brought out my old crock pot to help. The only problem is everything I tried to make in it before tasted as if it had cooked all day, and not in a good way. Instead of tasting like a fresh, just out of the smoker roast, it tasted like an old rubbery shoe.
My guess is that my crock pot was just too big for the things I was trying to make. So this go round, I doubled the recipe (leftovers, YEAH!!) in hopes my dinner would be slightly more edible. I’m not a big fan of beef stew so I tried again with something equally simple.. Chili. How can you possibly screw that up, right? We’ll see.
I’m hoping making a double dose will solve the problem. If so, I’ll be seeking crock pot recipes that will not only satisfy my taste buds, but satisfy my strong desire for more time with my family and more sleep!!
Do you have a great crock pot recipe? Share it with me and others
