Lightning show in the sky
It was one of those moments where I found myself saying, I wish I hah a video camera. While it was scary, last night’s lightning storms looked wild.
Unfortunately I was riding back from Washington after a flight that barely took off because of the weather or some other reason they always give. Driving on interstate 81 for hours—for more hours than I care to count was no fun.
It was nearly impossible to see. The hard rain, the hail and the continuous flashing of lightning on top of us made it both frightening but fascinating to watch safely.
The entire sky lit up. There was so much lightning, frequently. I asked meteorologist Sandra Brogan if that was common this time of year. She told me this was certainly a severe storm with a lot of instability in the atmosphere. I’m just thankful we made it home safely.
