Pink Ribbon Gathering
Today I have the honor of speaking at an event that until now, I’ve only participated in from a distance. The Pink Ribbon Gathering is a way for hundreds of women (and men) to gather and remember the people who have been lost to breast cancer. There are breast cancer survivors at the annual luncheon (the 11th this year) which makes it even more emotional… this year, many will strut their stuff in a fashion show.
I enjoy being able to be a part of so many events in the community but this event is one I love. It’s close to my heart. We all know someone touched by cancer. My connection to the all to often deadly disease runs deep. My older brother died from a form of brain cancer when we were kids. My mother survived not only the loss of a child… but beat breast cancer herself. She is 7 years cancer free!!
I will share my connection and support for all the cancer society does at this fundraiser. I only hope I can serve this amazing group well. This is one group really trying to make a difference!!
