So I have been thinking about Thanksgiving for weeks. Some of my family is coming for dinner and a holiday visit. They know I love to cook and they are all kind enough to be guinea pigs for me when I experiment in the kitchen. But this year, I think I have something I know they will LOVE, that is, if I don’t totally screw it up. It’s my dad’s famous grilled turkey. YES, GRILLED, as in on a CHARCOAL grill. It is the best tasting turkey EVER!!! I’ve had oven roasted, bag roasted and deep fried But this trumps them all.

My parents are coming to visit us this weekend and my Dad is gracious enough to show me one more time how he does it so I can attempt to replicate his amazing creation. He’s made it for me before but I learn by doing and need to actually get my hands on the bird if I even want a chance to make something edible without my Dad’s help Thanksgiving Day.

I will let you know how my trial goes this weekend… and also include pictures and directions for those of you who’ve heard Patrick and I talking about it and are curious. Wish me luck!!
