Cold start to 2009
Before work today Matt and I went for a little run and normally I feel warmed up after the first mile… we passed the two mile mark and I said… you know it’s cold when after two miles you still haven’t warmed up… he replied… I was warmed up but have already started to get cold again… I kind of felt like I had molasses flowing through my veins and with the weight training I have been doing for the half marathon in March my legs felt a little bit like cinder-blocks… but we still had a good time…
We had a fun holiday lunch… then he went back to work at his home office and I got ready to come into Roanoke… just before I left - I took a moment to stand on our deck and look around the yard… it was so peaceful… all I could hear were squirrels chirping back and forth at each other… I imagined they must be talking about how many acorns they have left to get them through the winter… I hope it is a short one - spring can’t come soon enough for me!
