Have a vision to stay on track
Training is going good for the Shamrock Half Marathon coming up in March… it is part of what keeps me going during a work out… I have been doing a lot of interval workouts because several recent articles have talked about the benefits that linger long after your workout… it makes sense to me… when you stoke a fire it burns hotter and longer… so bursts of high intensity intervals may stoke that metabolism…
Today as I was enduring some of the toughest parts of my work out - I kept envisioning the half marathon and riding on my new wakeboard… I am extremely excited to try it out… toward the end of last summer I actually got pretty good at it… the better shape I am in the longer runs I can go on when the weather gets warmer… plus balance is a big part of wakeboarding so I have been focusing a lot on core training… while these two topics may be of little interest to you my main point of this blog is that when you have a goal or two… picturing that goal when the workout is the most difficult can get you through…
