So many movies

This weekend will hopefully be a low key relaxing…  after the holidays it is nice to have a weekend with nothing to look forward to… we are thinking about going to a movie.. there are so many out now that look good…

I kept suggesting Marley and Me until someone told me you cry for the last half hour of it… the ads I have seen gave me the impression it was an upbeat funny movie… the video of that little puppy squirming around on his belly eating nuggets of food is too cute!!! Since we have an aging beagle… Luckie will be 13 in a couple of months… Marley and Me may not be the best movie for us right now…

There is also Yes Man… someone at work said it looked a lot like Liar Liar… (I didn’t see that movie) which doesn’t mean a lot to me… it looks funny though and that is what we are up for so it is the front runner right now…

Valkyrie gets high marks from some of our friends… I always ask people if it is violent or gory because I can’t stand that mess in a movie… I was told Valkyrie is “strategic” - the ads look a little intense and the topic is equally serious… probably not the feel good movie I am looking for…

Then there is Dark Knight… we have heard it is a good one but again pretty intense..

We don’t go see a lot of movies and I don’t watch much regular television to see the ads for them… so I really am pretty blind about the topics they represent… For instance… we went to see I Am Legend with Will Smith because everyone said it was so good and we like Will Smith… oh my goodness… it was so creepy I nearly had to leave the movie theater… when things jump out at me I get really uncomfortable… if you have seen the movie you know what I’m talking about… but Will Smith was excellent.. .anyone who can carry almost an entire movie on their own with a loyal German Shepard by their side has some serious talent…

One good thing about any movie at the theater… it’s a good excuse to splurge on real buttered popcorn…
