1,000 line-up outside Best Buy looking for a bargain

Each year Black Friday begins earlier and earlier.

At the front of the line of a 1,000 outside Best Buy in Roanoke is a man who stood at the door all of Thanksgiving Day for a computer.
“I’m an electronic guru,” Keith Weeks said.

Weeks was the first one in when the doors opened at 5 a.m.

The rush was not so much of a rush.  One by one people walked inside, but if waiting wasn’t enough outside, there was a lot more waiting in the check-out line and in their car.
“I’ve been waiting about 40 minutes,” Sonya Saunders said standing in line to buy her gifts.

In the final stretch, Saunders said all of the hassle was worth it to save a few bucks and many more echoed her thoughts.

“I’ve never done it before, but I’m trying to save money and I figured if I don’t get it at this price I’m not going to get it at all,” Cassandra Raecke said of standing in line at 3 a.m.
“It’s a way to save money and we just have fun doing it,” said Debbie Giordano, who was waiting in line before store hours for the second year in a row.

Retailers are hoping all that fun Giordano spoke of will literally pay off.

It’s too soon to tell how Black Friday sales will shape up, but so far it seems to be a toss up.

“Just Wii games really those are things that are on sale that we were interested in,” Saunders said.
“Just trying to get this TV,” explained Roberto Ortiz, but he didn’t stop there, “and I got a PS 3 and I got 2 DDR memories for my computers.
