2 charged with murder in death of Covington 2-year-old

A 10 On Your Side update to the investigation of the death of a child in Covington last year. Covington Police say they’ve charged a man and woman with murder, in connection with the death of a 2-year-old back in January of 2008.
Investigators say on Sunday, January 20, 2008, Covington emergency dispatch received a call around 5:30 p.m., asking for help for a 2-year-old girl who was unresponsive.
Covington Rescue Squad members took the child, now identified as Lakin Brown, to Alleghany Regional Hospital. Doctors say the child died.
Covington Police say an Alleghany County grand jury indicted Jeffrey Ailstock and Katrina Hyler on felony homicide, as well as family abuse and neglect of children charges.
Both Ailstock and Hyler are being held at the Alleghany Regional Jail.

Im glad social services is involved Im glad DJ and Vick told me some of they things he did in a way but its still so heart wrenching.I hope and pray for her other kids to be well cared for and loved.She goes to court in April ,I dont understand why this is taking so long I just want this tragedy out of my neighborhood.So do yo think she will get time over this or has she gotten away with murder?
Social services was involved in recommending that Katrina’s kids be given to the g’ma. Katrina gets visitation on Saturdays, but I learned it is supervised. Also, there has been nothing confirmed about Lakin being raped or molested. I merely mentioned Jeff’s past criminal history with another child in my previous posting. Please don’t exaggerate the facts or no one will take these postings seriously. And, yes, you can notify neighbors or whoever that anybody is living anywhere, but the information you distribute MUST be accurate.
How can this piece of trash even smile? I mean she let that baby be raped and killed!!! I can’t wait til her day comes!! Is it illegal to post flyers around town based on facts about someone? I think everyone needs to know about this. Not just the few of us on here . What do you guys think?
WELL LET ME TELL YALL KATRINA IS RIGHT THERE IN THE HOUSE NEXTDOOR IN SALEM SO APPARENTLY SOCIAL SERVICES HASNT COME THRU YET AND IS BLIND TO THE FACT THAT SHES STILL STAYING THERE WITH HER OLDEST CHILD.wtf?i WAS ON THE WAY TO WALMART AND THERE SHE WAS OUT THERE LAUGHING AND JOKING WITH SOMEONE IN THAT HOUSE WHO SHE THINKS IS HER FRIEND.
alright yall news update.She lost the kids from what Va Mtn girl posted but Va Mtn girl,was she just being arraigned??She was outside in my neighborhood talking to her close family member by marriage..I already knew the stuff about Jeff .when and how soon will they be sentanced so our kids right here in this neighborhood will be safe.HAHA Im glad you used the term mother “loosly"Help us out ,when do you think she will be gone for along time,I also have inside info on a certain unfortunate womans personal checks being stolen and alot of them were used and signed by them gettin mass quantities of pizza delivered using the stolen checks on a closed account and the police are all over that too,You follow me?I guess shes just was usin all the child support she was gettin to support Jeffery ,the child molester and didnt have food to eat when will she realize that she has lost her integrity and life for this child molester whos dna and sperm in her dead babies privates.???Yall just keep up the good work and anyh info on gettin them away and when the next court date and sentancing is let me know.Ill be checking in ,Lets do it for the safety of all our innocents.JUSTICE FOR LAKIN!!!RIP
As I promised in my last visit, I plan to return from time to time to check up on you “chatters” to see if anything new is going on. I just found out about the court hearing last Monday (1/26) in Salem where the grandma (Traci) filed an emergency hearing to get those two angels away from their “mother” - I use the term loosely - it fits Katrina Hyler Ailstock.
Good news! The judge took the kids away from Katrina and gave them to their g’ma and she has them full time.
I heard Katrina was a star witness for her case, looking like a total idiot on the stand while she tried to recall her entire job history for the past two years, which was a total of two jobs at fast food restaurants (she thinks) for up to two months or so (she thinks).
I also did some searching online for some background info on her wonderful hubby. BIG SURPRISE! He was arrested in April 2005 for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and also for carnal knowledge (DEFINED IN THE DICTIONARY AS…Carnal knowledge is sexual intercourse between a male and female in which there is a degree of penetration of the woman’s vagina by the man’s penis. It is a necessary legal element of rape, child molestation, or consensual sexual relations with a female below the age of consent (“statutory rape”). State laws vary, but the age of consent is usually between 14 and 18.)
He plead guilty (www.courts.state.va.us) and was sentenced to one year in jail on the contributing charge and the carnal knowledge charge was not prosecuted at the time. Unfortunately, all but one month of his sentence was suspended, which means he probably only served two weeks, if that. Because a minor was involved, I cannot get his or her name. I would love for that person to come forward. I’m sure that’s an interesting story!
Anyway, for now, two of her children are safe. The only worry now is for the one she is carrying. My source said it was hard to tell if she was showing because she is overweight, but she did appear to be pregnant. Let us all pray for the safety and healthy birth of that child. And also that Katrina or her next star boyfriend/whatever she chooses to torture her children never get to touch this one. Have a nice day, Katrina and Jeff.

So I know They went to their arraignment,I been livin such a nice life lately .I hope yall are too,sure do hope Justice is being served up raw for the guilty ones.At least I hope the judge ,court,police and social services are opening their eyes and settin hot fires under their butts right about now.I wish the best for everyone involved in justice for Lil Mz.Lakin Cheyanne.Shes in such a better place,where I know God has filled her with peace and comfort and sweet happy warm feelings.No thanks to her Mother and Jeffrey Ailstock.Be Blessed.
