2 charged with murder in death of Covington 2-year-old

A 10 On Your Side update to the investigation of the death of a child in Covington last year. Covington Police say they’ve charged a man and woman with murder, in connection with the death of a 2-year-old back in January of 2008.
Investigators say on Sunday, January 20, 2008, Covington emergency dispatch received a call around 5:30 p.m., asking for help for a 2-year-old girl who was unresponsive.
Covington Rescue Squad members took the child, now identified as Lakin Brown, to Alleghany Regional Hospital. Doctors say the child died.
Covington Police say an Alleghany County grand jury indicted Jeffrey Ailstock and Katrina Hyler on felony homicide, as well as family abuse and neglect of children charges.
Both Ailstock and Hyler are being held at the Alleghany Regional Jail.

How do you explain her broken legs bruises and burns and that her anal muscles were no longer intact when she was put to rest?I hope you feel it ..feel that pain that you put her thru.And you sitting there labeling and blaming that lil person..why do you do such things or whoever you are can you explain that for all of the people?If you arent her than how..HOW can you honestly in your heart sit in front of your small screen and defend what she allowed to happen?

she wasnt using the bathroom and you knew why and you knew it wasnt normal and you didnt take her to the doctor because you knew there would be signs of sexual abuse..DNA,sperm from the sexual abuse.You stood by and let it happen I mean you were in a small apt you knew what was goin on ,You knew when the drs examined her if you took her to the dr b4 she had passed they would know she was being abused down there.You demanded the enema playing crazy while you were putting on the hysterical crying act all to cover up what you knew they would find inside her,Your defense is gonna be that the lil person hitting her wasnt you and the jury will think oh this is because kids play to hard,then you are doing that lil person a world of harm because the whole world and you will even warp his brain into thinking he was the one doing it and responsible.How could you let that lil person think that as a MOTHER.There are lawyers that are alot smarter than that.Everyone knows if your child is having a problem like that for weeks and throwing up you take them to the dr ..but you had been aware of what they would find.you really thought the evidence could be flushed out..no technology has come way past that and the evidence has been found.You still the one for Jeffrey huh??You still behind him when you knew all the time he had been behind that precious lil one.Yes I know its sick and alot to stomach,truth hurts .God what are you gonna do?I dont care if you made me lose my cool ,you havent?Theres a problem with that you know..all those drugs have warped your brain to the point of apathy (thats where you arent capable of feeling regular human emotions)opposite of empathy.Thats why you have lost your cool .And as far as jobs ,dont act like ya know me dont even begin to think you know what I have and whats goin on.Some of us are more fortunate than others in what they actually have to do .I like what I am doing now .Im on a mission right now in this lil session to prove whats right and whats wrong and you young lady need not worry about anything else but redeeming and saving your soul. see here it is a shame you dont talk back and try to scare none of us like your doin that other girl.we know its cause your just a bully that cant back nothing up cept that big ol butt of yours for dope.we been knowin ya down here.I really hope you aint doin all that crying to ur parents and Mom and Dad much as they always tried to help you when you was down here sellin your foodstamps off for dope money and all that,your Daddys good people,you was always talkin all like you was jealous of him remarryin ,he’s gone and put all he ever had into raisin yall and look how you killed off his grandaughter.These courts round here dont get much big news but just like you say you gonna be laughin when people find out the truth, we gonna be laughin and wonderin whos beatin you up like you did that lil girl while you up there in prison.You done been with everyone and theier brother round here so I hope you real into girls cuz I think you bout to find out.You may be thinkin you can handle yourself but theres people in these jails that wont never see they kids but behind glass again,you in more trouble than you know ,them people in prison beat up them woman who hurt kids.When you get in that jail you better ask for some a that isolation cells to keep you safe cuz they gonna make you feel like what you did to Laken when they realize what your in there for.It will follow you everywhere,they got ways of dealin with child abusein mommas you cant even imagine.
