State Police say a driver fell asleep, and flipped his tractor tailer in Appomattox County early Saturday morning.

Troopers tell us Gary Holcomb Sr. was driving a fully-loaded big rig, going west on Route 460, near Route 633, when he fell asleep behind the wheel.

The truck went into the median, hit a guardrail, and then flipped over a 30-foot embankment.

Luckily Holcomb was not hurt.

He is charged with reckless driving.

Police say the eastbound lane was closed for a few hours, while the accident was cleared.
