Accident causes traffic back-up on US-460 in Montvale

Seven people are taken to the hospital after a crash in Bedford County.
It happened just after 6p.m. Wednesday on 460 east at Wilkerson Mill Road in Montvale.
State Police tell us a Nissan Versa wrecked and two other cars stopped behind it.
Then, a Suburban with seven people inside came around the curve and swerved to miss the stopped cars. The Suburban hit the driver of the Nissan, who was outside his car.
The driver of the Nissan is Mathis Glauser from Bedford. The driver of the Suburban is Rufus Harris from Concord.
The driver of the Nissan and the six passengers in the Suburban were all taken to the hospital and are all expected to recover.
In a second accident, a man crashed his car just a few feet behind the crash involving the Nissan and Suburban. He was walking and talking to emergency workers on the scene. There is no official information yet on the second accident.
Both eastbound lanes of 460 were blocked and traffic was backed up for at least a mile.

A multiple car accident is causing traffic troubles on Route 460 in Montvale tonight. It happened near Wilkerson Mill Road. 10 On Your Side’s Angela Hatcher is on the scene. She says multiple cars were involved in the crash and at least one car flipped. At least two people were taken to the hospital. Rescue crews are on the scene. Both lanes of eastbound traffic are blocked right now. Traffic is backed up for about a mile, so drivers may want to avoid the area.
