The Harrington family is thanking the community and the nation for their support. A large “thank you” sign sits in their front yard and rests against a tree.
“We’re humbled and so grateful for all the love and support we’ve gotten. We really are,” said Morgan’s mother, Gil.
Every glance at the clock reminds Dan and Gil of the two weeks gone by.
“Dan made a point of showing me last night on the microwave clock- said this was the time two weeks ago, the last time Morgan was seen,” Gil said.
They’ve been on TV nationwide to get their story out about Morgan, but they recently hired a communications firm out of Washington, D.C. that helps in crisis situations.
“Even though we were trying to get our message out for Morgan, we would look at each other every day and say, ‘We just can’t do as much as we’re doing. We have to shut this down.‘ So we have someone help us field some calls and do something and point our way,” Gil said.
The Harringtons tell us they made the two hour trip to Charlottesville on Friday.
“Went and took flowers and put them at the police station. Then also at Copeley Bridge, the last point where they have sightings of Morgan,” Gil said.
Now, they’re trying to cope and are finding resources to help in their grief.
“We’re now at a point two weeks into this and having had contact with other families from across the country who are in this situation or have been in this situation,” Dan said.
They just want people to know the whole Harrington family is grateful for the thoughts and prayers. The large thank you note is signed from Dan, Gil, Alex, AND Morgan.
