‘Appalachian Power’ line crews are on standby as Tropical Storm Hanna churns its way up the coast.
If needed, A-P crews will help other utilities handle the damage Hanna could cause.
They will be held back until Sunday— or after it’s determined their expertise won’t be needed in the Roanoke Valley.
80 power line crews are already in Louisiana helping utility companies there with the fallout from Gustav.
Hundreds of thousands of people are without power.
Crews left Tuesday ( September 2nd) morning, and are expected to be there a total of ten days.
