AT&T announces wireless service upgrade for Roanoke
According to AT&T’s news release, Roanoke, Vinton, Garden City and Cave Spring now have access to AT&T’s 3g network. 3g wireless service is faster than normal wireless, making it easier for customers to download video or other large files.
“Demand for wireless bandwidth is growing, whether it’s for sharing video and photos with friends, watching a movie, checking the latest scores, or listening to music on a phone, netbook or other mobile devices on the go,“ said Erika K. Thompson-Kemp, vice president and general manager for AT&T in Virginia and West Virginia. “With this expansion, our customers can continue to ride the leading edge of mobile broadband with emerging devices and thousands of mobile applications.“
Sprint and Verizon also provide 3g service in our area.
