Salem Police tell us their officers are searching for a man who robbed a bank late Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say the Stellar One branch in the 1200 block of West Main Street was robbed around 4:30 p.m.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40 years of age, 5’6”-5’8” – medium build, clean shaven with a ruddy complexion. He was wearing a gray “hoodie” sweatshirt, with the hood pulled up over a red baseball cap. A white shirt was worn over top of the sweatshirt. The subject also was wearing blue jeans and dark oval sunglasses.

The employees say the man handed a teller a note claiming that he was armed, and demanded money.  After receiving the money, the bank employees told police that robber walked out of the bank toward West Spartan Drive.
