A two-vehicle wreck on Virginia 24 near Vinton killed a Bedford County man Monday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police.

Kevin Lamont Martin, 30, of Goodview, died in the incident, said Trooper G.D. Musgrove.

Martin was driving a 1988 Dodge Dakota pickup truck east when he crossed the center turn lane, collided with a Snap-on truck and struck an embankment, which caused the vehicle to overturn, said Musgrove. Martin was ejected and was not wearing a seatbelt, he said.

The other driver was not charged and was not seriously hurt.

The wreck occurred less than a mile west of Spradlin Road, said Musgrove, and tied up traffic for nearly three hours.
