Last minute shopping ideas

If you haven’t finished your Christmas Shopping, you’re running out of time.  America’s Research Group is reporting that more than 40% of consumers still have holiday shopping to do.  The good news, retailers in our area are stepping up to help by expanding their hours, offering discounts on hot items and making deals on last minute shipping.
Gift cards seem to be the favorite idea for last minute gifts.  If the idea of braving mall traffic is not what you are looking for, you may want to think about concert tickets or tickets to a show.  At the Roanoke Civic Center, tickets are still available for Tim McGraw in February and Jerry Seinfeld in March.  You could also pick up tickets to Broadway In Roanoke shows like Mama Mia, and The Wedding Singer.
Over at the Salem Civic Center, Jason Aldean will be in town in early February.  The Monster Truck Winter Nationals in January, among others.
For the movie lovers on your list, there are a few options.  Buying gift certificates to a local theater or go on-line, where Netflix allows you to buy gift subscriptions.  You can choose not only what plan you want to give, but the length of the plan varies as well.
Overall, whether you choose to fight the crowds or surf the internet for your last minute gifts, those minutes are ticking away.
