Light day of holiday travel in the area, but State Troopers remain busy

Things were relatively light Friday on the roads in our area despite the holiday weekend.  Many travellers making their way through our area said they were surprised with how easy the trip was on the highway, “Very light, heading north seemed to be heavier than heading south. I expected more traffic” says Marlin Foulds of Pennsylvania.
State Police were out in full force keeping the roads safe. When we caught up with Trooper Kevin Humphries on I-581 at 10:30 Friday morning, he had already pulled over 18 drivers in his 3 hours on duty. He told us, “Everybody has somewhere to go, and they want to get there safely.  If every driver obeys speed limits and watches when they merge lanes, it helps us out, and helps everybody get where they are going.“
In 7 hours on duty Friday, Trooper Humphries pulled over 26 cars for violations ranging from speeding to expired tags.
