Local business sends employees home to save on gas

Jon Beard’s work station is empty, and it’s 11 o’clock in the morning.
No, he’s not taking the day off; he’s back at home, typing away on his front porch.
“Today I’m working from the house – doing my normal job but a better view,“ Beard said.
At Rev.Net, an empty office means extra savings for the employees.
“It’s saving me 2-3 gallons a day - probably 10 or 11 dollars a day savings in gas,“ Jeffrey Culverhouse, who works at Rev.Net, said.
At least two days a week, these employees get to work from home.
Doyle Edgerton, Jr. is the company’s president.
“With the gas prices continuing to rise and rise, I thought we’ve got to do something,“ Edgerton said.  “Moral is through the roof.“
Rev.Net hopes one day other companies will catch on.
“Everybody talks about it.  They need to do it,“ Beard said.
“If each company does whatever they can to help their employees reduce their fuel costs, at a national level it could make an impact,“ Edgerton said.
It’s a grassroots movement Rev.Net is happy to lead – right to your front porch.
