WSLS: This is your first year coming. Are you coming back next year?

Parent Crystal Engle: “Yes, definitely.“

Meanwhile, at the Roanoke Civic Center, just before 8 p.m., a long line of party goers waited in line to kick off the New Year’s Eve Blast.

“Very excited,“ said one couple. We’re looking forward to dancing and having a good time.“

New Year’s Eve was a night everyone stepped into the spotlight and felt like a super star, no matter their ages or where they were, whether it was in Vinton or Roanoke.

Parents say they like Vinton’s New Year’s Eve celebration because they can have alcohol-free fun with their kids.

While, several people at the Civic Center say they enjoy the event because it’s a place they can also have fun, inside, where it’s warm.
