Virginia’s teacher of the year returns from inauguration ceremonies

Stephanie Doyle is getting caught up on schoolwork at Breckenridge Middle School. She received the invitation because of her teacher of the year award.

She had a seat very close to the front row and describes the event as surreal.  She was close enough to get some great pictures of our new president and first lady, Barack and Michelle Obama.  She even caught a snapshot of singer Beyonce who was in the audience nearby.

Doyle says, “It was so amazing to witness him being sworn in and to hear his words and vision for our country. Whether you are republican or democrat we’re all Americans first.“

She says she and her husband had to wake up at 2:45 am on the day of the inauguration to get there on time.
