Man killed in Bath County crash

State Police are investigating a deadly accident in Bath County.

It happened around 11:00 a.m. Monday on Route 39, just east of Route 630.

Police say Joseph Bencill fell asleep behind the wheel of his pick-up truck, ran off the road and hit several trees.

The passenger in his truck, 24-year-old Nathan Heartless of Lexington died at the scene.

We’re told Heartless was not wearing a seat belt.

There is no word on the driver’s condition.

When reporting the news, it might be helpful to AT LEAST spell the mans name right. It’s HARTLESS, Nathan Hartless. Those of us who know him, care that he’s remembered correctly.
