The state has set a time and place for you to sound off about Appalachian Power’s newest rate hike request.

The State Corporation Commission will hold a public hearing on June 30th to consider APCO’s fuel rate hike request.  APCO’s want to increase its fuel rate more than 50% from 2.160 cents per kilowatt-hour (¢/kwh) to 3.381 ¢/kwh.  APCO also submitted an alternative proposal, that would reduce that rate hike temporarily to 3.050 ¢/kwh, with the rest of the rate hike coming after August 2010.

The hearing will be at the SCC’s offices in Richmond, at 10:00 a.m.
