Roanoke City Health Dept. moving to new location

The Roanoke City Health Department is making a pretty big change.

After more than 50 years at this Eighth street location, the health department is relocating to the Roanoke Human Services Building on Williamson Road. The new location is already home to the Department of Social Services and for customers that equals convenience. “Anyone who needs services from both agencies will be able to visit both at one location,“ said Public Information Officer Robert Parker.

In the meantime, Parker, says patients can still call the health department. “I do want to stress that the health department will be operating. Folks will be at work doing work and able to respond to emergencies. The thing we’re losing is that face to face clinical contact.“

The Roanoke City Health Department is Moving!

The Roanoke City Health Department is moving to the new health department building located at 1502 Williamson Road NE, 2nd Floor, in Roanoke, Virginia, 24012.

The current office at 515 Eighth St. SW, Roanoke, will close for the move on December 16, 17, and 18 and will reopen in the new Williamson Road location on December 21, 2009. 

The new telephone number will be finalized on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, and will be announced at that time. The current number - 540-857-7600 - is still operational and will include forwarding information for the new number, once it’s available.
