The roanoker grew up just hours from Kisumu.
She says it’s a source of immeasurable pride for America’s president-elect to be one of her own.
Many Kenyans consider Obama a “son of the soil”
Kibogy says, “it was just wonderful to see my fellow countryman and women celebrating this historic moment.“
A historic moment Kibogy is proud to be a part of—she cast her ballot for Obama.
It was the first time as an American citizen—and in her life—that she was eligible to vote.
“To actually push that button for Obama, I think this is the best vote I’ll ever make,“ says Kibogy.
She says Obama’s victory goes beyond America’s borders—it means hope for the world.
Many Africans hope an Obama presidency will help their continent—which is the poorest in the world.
“I really hope for peace in Africa peace and stability.“

“I hope he’s able to”.
With global challenges like that, Obama faces high expectations…
The eyes of the world will be watching to see if he meets them.
Other parts of the world, including Britain, Thailand, and Indonesia have shown their support of Obama’s win.
But skepticism remains high in the muslim world.
