Police confirm a Rocky Mount officer died in a crash at a troublespot on Route 220 early Saturday.

34-year-old Jason Maxey died just before 2:00 a.m., as he drove on Southbound Route 220, just before the Elm Avenue exit in Roanoke.

Roanoke Police say two cars collided.  Maxey was driving one of the cars.

We are still waiting to hear from police what caused the accident.

I’d like to know why the media has identified the victim, Jason Maxey…but won’t identify the P.O.S. that killed him driving on the wrong side of the road….would be nice if the media did their job of reporting the whole story for once….
