Hundreds greet Sarah Palin in Roanoke

6:10 p.m.

Sarah Palin made her way to the Valley View Barnes and Noble on Sunday morning as part of her “Going Rogue” book tour.  About a thousand people lined up around the parking lot to get her autograph.

Some were worried they wouldn’t get in, but Tess Lynch spent the night to make sure she got a good place in line.

“It was relieving because it was really cold and it was really hard last night, but I think it’s going to be worth the wait,” she said.

Everybody brought along their books to be signed. One woman will give them to her children.

“My son, Michael, who lives in San Diego and my daughter who lives in Omaha, Nebraska,” said Debra Farley.

The big moment came when Palin hopped off the bus just before 10 a.m. with her youngest son, Trig, in her arms and youngest daughter, Piper, by her side. She was dressed in purple, not her usual red, and chatted as the line moved.

Lindsay Pugh left the store smiling.

“I told her my mom said hi, and she said ‘Aw that’s so sweet.‘ So she was awesome,” said Pugh.

Only books were allowed to be signed, a rule Faith Kostelnik didn’t know about when she showed up with Palin’s headshot. But Palin showed her hospitality.

“She said, ‘Well honey, if you have it out right now, just go ahead and I’ll sign it now.’ And not only that, but she took the time to ask to personalize it for my son,” said Kostelnik.

Some drove 400 miles to get to Roanoke. It was a crowd so large workers didn’t think everybody would get a bracelet to go through the line. But Palin moved fast enough for everybody to get inside.

Palin’s parents came along and are glad to see the support.

“Here we found hundreds and hundreds of people that feel the same way we do, very heartwarming,” said Sally Heath, Palin’s mom.

The Palins left for the day on the way to their next stop, keeping it a family affair.

“This is a privilege. We each have to take turns. It’s a big family and everyone wants to be a part of it,” said Heath.

As the bus drove off, people cheered and Piper Palin took pictures- just a way to remember how many people support her mother in Roanoke and nationwide.

3:16 p.m.

Hundreds of fans anxiously awaited Sarah Palin’s arrival today at the Barnes and Noble store at Valley View Mall.

Some of her entourage included her mom and two of her five children, Piper and Trig.

Lines were already forming on Saturday. The first person in line started camping out at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Hey Getridofem, post back and tell us where you can buy it for 5 bucks.  It’s on amazon.com for $14.50.  Yes, it is still # 1 on amazon.com.  It’s been there for weeks.

Caribou Barbie’s book can be purchased for $5.00 at the moment; that should tell you something about the narrative, the content, the merit and “WHINE” factor of this classic cut-and-run “I did it for the $$$$$“ quitter’s book.  She’s got great legs, though and would make a terrific lobbyist.

Way to go melvin. well thought out and well spoken, adult comment!! Do you have a team of writers there with you?
Really? Did you think long and hard about that one before posting it, or did you just let your fingers dance randomly across the keyboard and post whatever crap it lead to?

She should just model for garage calendars, which is obviously all she has the competence for.

just to clarify…this information below in my post was gathered DURING the pre-election campaigning.  The truth of the two candidates’ experience compared to what the mainstream media reported.

Yes, Palin is vastly more qualified than Obama. (Link @ bottom of post.)

Executive experience:

OBAMA = ZERO
PALIN = 12 yrs

Military Experience:

OBAMA = None
PALIN = Commander in Chief of Alaska National Guard; Son is enlisted Infantryman in U.S. Army

Most Courageous Moment in Public
Service:

OBAMA = Gave an anti-Iraq war speech to a crowd of anti-Iraq war demonstrators in Hyde Park in 2002.
PALIN = Resigned in protest from position of Ethics Commissioner of Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission in order to expose legal violations and conflicts of interest of
Alaska Republican leaders, including the former state Attorney General and the State GOP Chairman (who was also an Oil & Gas Commissioner), who was doing work for the party on public time and
supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail.

Iraq and Troop Support:

OBAMA = Gave an anti-Iraq war speech to a crowd of anti-Iraq war demonstrators; almost visited wounded troops in Germany, but decided to go shopping in Berlin instead.
PALIN = Formerly (pre-surge) critical of apparent lack of long-term strategy for Iraq; Visited wounded U.S. soldiers in Germany; visited AK National Guard soldiers deployed to Kuwait; Son deploying to Iraq on 9/11/08 as Army infantryman.

Legislative Record:

OBAMA = Voted “present” over 100 times as IL state senator
PALIN = Passed a landmark ethics reform bill;Used veto to cut budgetary spending; Prevented “bridge to nowhere” that would have cost taxpayers $400 million dollars.

(best 2 are below)

Theme during campaign:

OBAMA = Hope and Change; ”Bringing Change from Outside Washington”
PALIN = Change and Clean Government

What they’ve done to live that
theme:

OBAMA = Selected 36-year incumbent Senator as running mate and placed many long time liberal politicians in high places of power.
PALIN = Replaced entire Board of Agriculture and Conservation because of
conflict of interest;Resigned from position of Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission in order to expose corruption among members of own party

Sarah was AWESOME! She was so down to earth, and she actually took the time to not only thank us individually for coming to see her, she shook our hands as well. Future President Palin…here we come!

Too bad we did not get this type of change and hope.  Instead we got someone who has even less experience than she.  Keep going Sarah and we will too.
