Search near construction site finds nothing in Harrington case

Our NBC affiliate WVIR 29 reports the search is over, and police did not find anything connected with the Harrington case.

State Police say the lead has not provided any significant information or findings as of 5:16 p.m.

Also, the Jefferson Area Crime Stoppers Reward for information that leads to the location and recovery of Morgan Harrington is now at $150,041.  That officiall confirms the promise of $50,000 from Metallica, and adds $41 from the staff at the United Way in Roanoke.

4:57 p.m.

Our NBC affiliate in Charlottesville WVIR 29 reports that authorities have confirmed that search crews are combing an area on Pantop Mountain.  The search started with the construction site around Martha Jefferson Hospital.  Police were seen going through storage units on the site.  After searching the hospital site, they moved to the area around State Farm.

State Police are searching the Pantop Mountain area in Albermarle County, after receiving a tip in the Morgan Harrington case.

The search area is concentrated near a construction site at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
