Read the release from VDOT:
Motorists are urged to use caution this morning.  While major primary highways are clear of ice and snow secondary roads are still snow or ice covered in many areas.

Crews from the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) have been working to treat the secondary roads with mixed abrasives to improve traction; in addition to addressing icy conditions.

In Charlotte County, three roads are closed. All or portions of Routes 47, 680 and 746 are impassable.

The Lynchburg District includes the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Campbell, Charlotte, Cumberland, Halifax, Nelson, Pittsylvania and Prince Edward.

Motorists are advised to use caution, reduce speed and increase following distance when driving this morning, particularly on the secondary roads and subdivision streets.
