Vinton church members accused of child abuse

Two members of a church in Vinton are accused of molesting children.

Dean Harold Stone and Dan Silverman are members of Heritage Baptist Church.

Silverman, who was an assistant pastor at the church, faces aggravated sexual battery, for allegedly abusing a 12-year old back in August.

Stone is charged with 24 counts involving sexually molesting one child over the age of 13, and two under 13.

Stone is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail.  His trial is scheduled for late February.

Stone was a deacon at the church—where police say he confessed before the congregation.

Investigators don’t believe the crimes took place at the church.

They say the cases are not related.

Both men have removed themselves from their positions with the church.

The pastor told WSLS 10 On Your Side on Tuesday night that the congregation has been asked to pray for the men and their alleged victims.

I propose if these people are found guilty, We should fill up the civic center with all who want to attend and cut their balls off publicly and without anesthetic.
