Vinton receives a grant to help its downtown revitalization project.

The town received a $35,000 planning grant from the 2009 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (VA DHCD), according to a news release.

The grant will be used to hire consultants.  Those consultants will help develop and complete a “Downtown Economic Restructuring and Marketing Plan and the Downtown Physical Improvement Plan,“ according to the release.

Is there anyone in this Valley who can make a decision without hiring a consultant?  Or Three?  Is this a job increaser so that we can claim success in reducing unemployment?
