Roanoke police are investigating after a woman was robbed outside the Towers Shopping Center on Colonial Avenue.

It happened at 3:40 p.m. Friday.  Police say an 82-year-old woman was sitting on a bench outside of the Dollar Tree.  A young man sitting next to her grabbed money, a bank card, and an identification card out of the woman’s sweater pocket and ran.  He was last seen running through the parking lot and behind Hollywood Video.  The victim was not hurt.

Police have not made any arrests.  If you have information that could help police, call the Roanoke Police Department at (540) 853-5959 or Crime Line at (540) 344-8500.

I sincerely hope that the police forces in the Valley wake up.  This is just the beginning with the Christmas season coming.  The crooks need money and are too lazy or stupid to work for it.  Oops.  I forgot, they probably can’t get a job either.
