Barbara Landry, a cancer survivor, is on her way from Amherst,NH to Atlanta,GA on a scooter. She left New Hampshire on July 17 and plans to drive around 1,500 miles and arrive in Atlanta,GA on August 9, the one year anniversary of her sister in law’s death of breast cancer. She’s calling her journey down the east coast “Trails for Dale” named after Dale Burnes Golinski hoping to raise some awareness and money for breast cancer research. Being followed by a van with her children Liza and Jake, and also her Aunt Betsy, Barbara is making her way down the Blue Ridge Parkway on her flower decorated scooter which she calls"Joy” at about an average speed of 35 mph. So far Barbara and her family have raised $16,000 for breast cancer awareness. For more information about Trails for Dale visit http://www.bcrfcure.org/part_comm_gr_trailsfordale.html

This is Barbara Landry, and I appreciate the wonderful coverage of this story.  I am unable to open the video, however.

I want to thank all the folks in Roanoke, especially David Ratliff, for helping to make the coverage of this story possible.

Hoping to see you all on the Trail.

Barbara Landry
