Zoo expansion presentation

Mill Mountain zoo may be getting a little bigger.

Zoo Director Dave Orndorff presented plans to the Mill Mountain Advisory Committee for the Virginia Wild exhibit.

The exhibit would showcase animals native to the Commonwealth.
   
Orndorff asked the committee to ask city council to extend the zoo’s lease to include about two and a half additional acres for the exhibit.

The committee asked Orndorff to work with parks and recreation to develop a more detailed plan to present for consideration next month.
