On the final day to file for election to a Bedford County office, incumbents stand alone so far.

Bedford County Registrar Barbara J. Gunter said this morning that the only people who have filed to seek election are those who already are in office.

Anyone who wishes to run for election in November has until 7 p.m. today to file, she said.

District 2, 3 and 4 seats are up for re-election for both the Board of Supervisors and the school board.

As of this morning, those who have filed for re-election include incumbents:

- Chuck Neudorfer, the supervisor who represents the Moneta area in District 2;

- Roger Cheek, long-time supervisor who represents Huddleston and southeastern parts of the county in District 3;

- John Sharp, the board of supervisor’s chairman who represents Forest in District 4;

- David Black, District 3’s school board representative;

- and Gary Hostutler, school board chairman representing District 4.

Also on the school board, current District 2 member David Vaden has filed to seek his first elected term. Vaden was appointed to the seat in April following the sudden resignation of Talbot Huff in February.
